Spain is a country located on the Iberian Peninsula. Its territory includes also the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands. Due to its wide, sandy beaches and mild climate, Spain is one of the top holiday destinations. The eternally shining sun and warm sea are an ultimate invitation to relax. The Spaniards always amaze others with their cultural diversity and open attitude when interacting with the tourists – they are energetic, friendly and full of optimism people.
This charming country is not only full of friendly people, but also beautiful sandy beaches and mountains. Spain abounds in many kilometres wonderful, winding mountain trails offering unforgettable landscapes and just excellent weather for riding a motorcycle.
The history and culture of Spain is as fascinating as its monuments. Eight centuries of the presence of Arab-Muslim culture on the Iberian Peninsula changed the face of this part of Europe. We can admire excellent Spanish monuments such as the Alhambra in Granada, Real Alcazar in Seville or La Mezquita in Cordoba today. When visiting this country, you also need to taste its traditional cuisine. Spanish cuisine consists of culinary traditions from as many as 6 different regions. Each of them is characterized by the use of slightly different ingredients and has been influenced by other parts of the world.
Andalusia is full of interesting qualities which attract many travelling enthusiasts. The picturesque land is located in the southern part of the Iberian Peninsula and consists of eight provinces. In Andalusia, you can admire the white villages scattered among the picturesque spaces, as well as feel the rhythms of flamenco or experience a real bullfight. Andalusia is located between Europe and Africa – you can find the wealth of Moorish architecture and the ruins of Roman aqueducts among the mountains and on the border with the sea. In addition to the beauty of its nature and amazing monuments, the advantage of this corner of Spain is a a well-organized hotel and gastronomic base and a wide recreational offer. Everyone will find something for themselves, and holidays in Andalusia will surely be remembered for a long time.

Our trip has a round trip character
This means that we sleep in a different place every day and eat our meals in bars and restaurants along the way. Our guests decide which of these places to choose – we only provide our recommendations. We carry our luggage on motorbikes with us. Accommodation is booked in advance, and the route has several variants, thanks to which we will always reach the hotel at a reasonable time.
The route is about 1250 km long. In 90%, it runs off the asphalt, so it is not constant and some of the sections may be temporarily closed, e.g., due to hunting or impassable after heavy rains. However, it is not a problem since we can quickly set the optimal detours.
Less than 10% of the route is a paved surface – asphalt or concrete slabs. The rest are the gravel, rocky or clay roads. We will make sure that each day of the trip is varied and full of excitement.
The difficulty level of the trip can be described as moderate. The route runs on the loose stones mostly and requires the ability to move the motorcycle freely in a standing position and operating the clutch, throttle, and brakes precisely.
We try to make the trip as attractive as possible and available to a wide range of motorcyclists at the same time. However, the most important thing is safety. Therefore, we reserve the right to verify the skills of each participant on the first 40 kilometres of the route. If we think that the level of difficulty is too high for someone, we will ask them to return to the hotel base. If the availability of our bikes allows that, there will be the opportunity to exchange the motorcycle for another one from our road fleet (free of charge). You can use it to explore Spain on your own from the perspective of the fantastic surrounding asphalt roads.
Main attractions
The main attractions of an off-road trip are simply the fact of being away from the paved roads and having a chance of a close contact with nature and the ever-changing landscape.
The off-road riding gives you a big thrill and can be described as a certain challenge, impossible to experience on the asphalt roads. Each overcome obstacle on the road fills a rider with a great satisfaction. Moreover, the expedition is full of beautiful views, emotions and adventure which will make each participant remember it for a long time. The planned route is very diverse. It leads mainly through the mountain sections, but it is also full of riding through the olive groves, vineyards or riverbeds with even short sections leading along the beach.

ROUTE DETAILS
day 1.
Malaga
The first day is always dedicated to the organizational and introductory stuff: transfer from the airport, check-in at the hotel and getting familiar with the motorcycles and the guide.
day 2.
Malaga – Tocón
The second day of our trip, which is the first day of riding, will start with getting out of the dense buildings around Malaga. We will reach high mountains quite quickly, and the road will rise to a height of over 900 meters above sea level. It may not seem very high, but comparing to Malaga’s 0 meters, it makes a big impression. Later we will head north towards the beautiful Embalse de Guadalhorce, where Caminito del Rey, the famous King’s Path, starts. We will stop for a meal at the El Mirador, a restaurant named after the beautiful view that can be admired from this place. After having a delicious steak, we will descend from the mountains and ride on a more flattened terrain between olive groves, heading more and more east until the end of the day, when we begin to see the Sierra Nevada peaks from the route.

day 3.
Tocón – La Calahorra
The next day, moving east towards Granada, we will be getting closer and closer to Sierra Nevada. The route to Granada is relatively flat and easy, but when we will get to the other side, the way which will lead us through the very borders of the Parque Natural Sierra de Huetor and the Parque Nacional de Sierra Nevada where we will get a little higher. At an altitude of about 1,600 meters above sea level we will be led among wild nature by the picturesque route that will let us admire the wonderful landscapes of Andalusia.

day 4.
La Calahorra – Alhama de Almeria
Day 4 is the continuation of the Sierra Nevada ride right next to the border of the national park. A quite rapid change in altitude awaits us here – from 1,500 meters above sea level, we will descend into a valley located at an altitude of 800 meters. Next, we will enter the neighbouring Sierra de Baza range, where we will pass through the Calar Alto Observatory located at over 2,168 meters above sea level, which makes it the highest point of the entire route. The landscapes, with the Sierra Nevada massif on one side and the Mediterranean Sea on the other, just must be seen with your own eyes. The plan for the second part of the day is to visit another fantastic place – the Tabernas Desert. Many of its fragments do not resemble a typical desert and the rapidly changing landscapes always make a huge impression on every visitor. Entering the canyons situated in the area will result in repeated stops in order to fully admire the beauty of this place.

day 5.
Alhama de Almeria – Soportujar
The return towards Malaga will lead us south of the Sierra Nevada massif, so we will often be surrounded by seascapes. We will also see 26,000 hectares of crops grown in plastic tunnels in the Almeria area, where the land and climate are particularly favourable for farming. The scale of production there is so great that the area covers almost half of Europe’s demand for fresh fruit and vegetables. The mountains we will be driving over will not be much lower, as the highest peak we will ascend that day is Nuevo Mundo, rising to 2113 metres above sea level – so it is only 50 metres lower than the highest point on our route. Most of the route covered that day will be above 1000 metres above sea level. A beautiful mountain road will take us directly to the east, where it will be a little wetter. First, the obligatory photo at the Embalse de Baninar, so that at the end of the route we will enter the riverbeds of the Guadalfeo and Trelevez rivers, where we will face a number of fords.

day 6.
Soportujar – Villanueva del Trambuco
The route will lead us further east. After riding through the charming Lanjaron, we will go along the shore of the Embalse de Beznar, reaching the very edge of the cliff. Sticking to the mountains, we will continue north and enter the Sierra de Loja, where we will have a chance to see a lot of the wind farms. The mountain range dominates over the surroundings there, which means that we will admire the most beautiful, panoramic views of the entire area.

day 7.
Villanueva del Trambuco – Malaga
The last day of riding is also the shortest one: our route is planned to be only about 100 kilometres long. And although it will not lead very high this time, it is not any less picturesque than the previous ones during our trip. The route, very winding, will allow us to pass through the wild nature over the very undulating terrain stretching as far as the eye can see. Halfway through the route, we will pass the Hermitage of Three Crosses (Ermita de las Tres Cruces). Relatively early, we will leave for Malaga, where we will stop at the car wash to clean up the motorcycles, and then head to the hotel. We will prepare for the farewell dinner, exchange our photo-video materials and, of course, start making plans for the next Motofiesta trips!

day 8.
Coming back home
The last day of our trip – check out from the hotel and the transfer to the airport.
